Piling is a means of transferring building loads from the surface through weak soils to competent material. Piling is used when the ground conditions are too poor to support the building and when conventional methods (concrete raft, trench…) are not sufficient.
Piling can be used on any type of construction sites, ranging from single-house project to large commercial development.
Various piling methods are available and are classified into two distinctive groups: replacement piling and displacement piling.
